This one needs a little explanation for the newbie. Horking or a Singer Barb is using the Find Item skill. You follow groups or self kill and run from dead body to dead body horking.
Yes, a Hork Barbarian is a fantastic farmer. Find Item gives eligible corpses another chance to drop loot, and Travincal is a perfect match for it. The Council is close to the waypoint, drops runes, jewelry, charms and other valuable items, and every usable corpse gives the Barbarian another pull at the slot machine. A specialized Berserk Barbarian can do the same thing with elite packs in places like the Pit.
But "make a Horker and farm Trav" isn't the same as "Barbarian is the easiest fresh starter."
Physical characters care about their weapon damage, Attack Rating, attack speed and survivability. A spellcaster gains a few levels and its spell gets stronger. A Barbarian gains a few levels and may still be swinging the same disappointing sword. He is durable and Battle Orders is fantastic, but he usually takes more work to get through the game with nothing waiting in the stash.
You can level with Double Swing, Frenzy or War Cry and move into the finished farming build later. Just understand that the Horker is often the goal for the account, not the exact build you should force from level one.
If you like physical combat and want to build toward Travincal, gold farming or one of the best item-finding specialists in the game, the extra work can be worth it.
